KEMET Power Solutions (KPS) High Voltage stacked capacitors in X7R dielectric capacitors utilize a proprietary lead-frame technology to vertically stack one or two multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) into a single compact surface mount package. The two-chip vertically stacked device offers up to double the capacitance in the same or smaller design footprint, allowing for both component and board space reductions.

KEMET’s new Film facility in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia held its grand opening ceremony on October 18, 2012. KEMET broke ground on this 11,200 square meter facility in August of 2011 as part of the company’s restructuring of its Film and Electrolytic business. The facility will allow for a significant reduction in cost while increasing total production capability. Construction on the facility was completed in August 2012 with a total investment by KEMET in the amount of €15M.

KEMET continues to move forward with its "Partnership for Social and Economic Sustainability" initiative despite a recent challenge to the final rule for Dodd-Frank Section 1502 by the National Association of Manufacturers and the United States Chamber of Commerce.
